Cancellation Policy

Please notify the Porch Music Staff of known absences (appointments, sports events, vacations, etc.) as far in advance as possible by notifying an employee or canceling the lesson(s) through the online portal.

Lessons should be canceled by 6pm on the day prior to the lesson. If the lesson is not canceled with sufficient notice, the student will still be billed for the lesson.

Emergency/Illness-related absences will be left up to the instructor based on previous attendance records.

Severe Weather: Severe Weather cancellations will be left to instructor discretion. Students will be notified if lessons are canceled due to weather. However, on days that the local school district is closed, students are able to cancel outside of the cancellation policy without penalty.

Attendance Policy

If a student is a “no call, no show” for 2 weeks in a row, they will forfeit their lesson slot.

If a student provides notification but is unable to attend lessons for more than 4 consecutive weeks, they will forfeit their slot unless prior arrangements have been made.

Payment Policy

Effective January 1st, 2023, payments for the month will be accepted up to the 7th of each month without a late fee being added. Any payments following the 7th will have a $10 late fee added to the outstanding balance. Any students with balances outstanding on the last day of the month will have their lessons suspended; the account must be brought up to date and the following month paid in advance in order to resume lessons.

Students who pay their monthly lesson fee online within the first 7 days of the month will be charged a reduced rate of $16.50 per lesson. Please send an email to porchmusicstorelessons@gmail.com with “I’d like to sign up for online payments” in the subject line or see an associate at the store to sign up. This cannot be combined with any other discount, such as our military discount.
